ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY
The Emerald Lighthouse exists to light the way toward inclusive, affirming communities where LGBTQ+ individuals feel seen, supported, and deeply valued.
We are committed to reducing isolation and strengthening belonging by creating spaces rooted in care, connection to community, and empowerment. Through youth programming, community engagement, and education, we support LGBTQ+ individuals while also equipping families, schools, and organizations with the tools needed to show up with understanding, respect, and affirmation.
The Emerald Lighthouse was founded by Christina and Stephanie Emmanuel-De Luna, whose work with an LGBTQ+ nonprofit in South Florida deeply shaped their vision. Witnessing the life-changing impact of affirming spaces and community-centered support, they carried that experience with them when they relocated to Delaware.
What began as a shared vision became a reality in Spring 2021, rooted in both professional expertise and a deep personal commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.
Today, The Emerald Lighthouse continues to grow as both a community hub and an educational resource, currently offering:
-
A monthly LGBTQ+ Teen Group (ages 12–17) focused on connection, identity, and emotional well-being
-
Affirming trainings and workshops for organizations seeking to better support LGBTQ+ individuals and communities
As we expand, our work remains grounded in one core belief:
Together, we create spaces where people truly belong.
